**General Aire GF-990-53 Humidifier Solenoid Water Valve OEM**

This is a 24-volt AC electrically operated valve that controls the flow of water to your humidifier. The valve comes with a pre-installed strainer screen that filters the water before it passes through, capturing sand and dirt that could lead to blockages.

Typically, this valve should be replaced every ten years, or more frequently if it becomes stuck in the open or closed position.

**Important Note:** Although this valve operates on 24 volts, some units may be equipped with a 115-volt solenoid valve. Please check the voltage rating on your old valve before placing your order. This valve can be mounted on either the left or right side of the humidifier.

When ordering, do not focus on the version, orifice size, part number, or wattage printed on your old valve; the most important factors are the voltage and your unit’s model number.
